For the 2010 YMA Fashion Fund Scholarship application, applicants were asked to make five redesigns fo key items from Tommy Hilfiger's line. I chose to redesign woven button down shirts.
To fuel inspiration for my shirt, I thought about Tommy Hilfiger's roots as the designer of the modern day "American dream", a classic but also fresh view celebrating healthy and sporty beauty and an attitude ready to take on challenges of the world. My inspirations were sporty all-American beauties like Katharine Hepburn and Patti Hansen. |
